That and, although I’m not sure about California, many states are still doing elective and non-time-sensitive surgeries. That means some percentage of those will have complications and need extra care/ICU beds. So the hospitals are also full of non-covid patients, some of which might turn into covid patients if exposed there as well, and it’s a mess. I know one of the hospital systems in my state.
I’m looking at several months of incapacitating pain and potentially compromising my fertility long-term by delaying, but I’d rather not die or keep others from life or death care if it has to be at an overextended hospital. People need to stay the fuck home because it makes suffering exponential in ways they’re not thinking about as they enjoy their vacations etc.
